Taffs Well 2-1 Undy: Wellmen out of relegation zone after beating Undy

Taffs Well moved out of the relegation zone after defeating Undy Athletic 2-1 at Rhiw Dda’r.

Jordan Carey’s penalty and Richard French’s goal, both in the second-half, was enough for the Wellmen despite Oliver Smith’s stoppage time goal for Undy.

Each side were reduced to ten men after two straight red cards. Liam Martin was red carded for Taffs Well just before the hour.

Rhys Aherne also saw red as he was dismissed two minutes later.

Undy are now winless in their last six matches and have been brought into the relegation battle by their opponents. They’re four points off of Cwmbran Celtic.

Taffs Well moved a point ahead of Celtic, though Cwmbran hold a game in hand over Well.

Next up for Taffs Well is another home match against Cymru South title hopefuls Haverfordwest County on Saturday.

For Undy Athletic, they’re also at home as they take on Briton Ferry Llansawel, also this weekend.
