Baglan Dragons 1-3 Penydarren BGC: Welsh League outfit too strong for fifth tier Dragons

Penydarren BGC will play Baglan Dragons in the final of the FAW Trophy after defeating Baglan Dragons 3-1 at Cyncoed Campus.
The Welsh League outfit fought back from an early set back after Tom Randall’s opener for the Dragons, as Josh Brogden, Christoper Colvin and Ricky Evans struck for the Merthyr side.
Kerry Mullins’ men will play North Walian side Llandudno Albion after they defeated Holyhead Hotspur on penalties, following a 1-1 draw.
Tom Randall as he was on the right of Stephen Price and slotted the ball in to the bottom left of the goal beating the Penydarren keeper.

Baglan were unable to keep their composure after their goal, as they conceded a penalty after Christopher Colvin was fouled in the box.
Joshua Brogden stepped up and converted the ball into the bottom right corner despite a slight touch from Steffan Rogers.

Penydarren took complete control in the second half as they took the lead through one of their 2017 Welsh Cup heroes Christopher Colvin.
A half volley from the experienced forward hit its destination of the bottom right corner from a counter-attack with the Baglan goalkeeper beaten.
The goal that tied up the game was a cross into the box headed down and half volleyed by Ricky Evans to secure the tie and send Penydarren to the final.
To round off the day goalscorer Tom Randall was sent off with a second yellow for a challenge outside the box after his previous was a harsh caution for a high boot.
Despite getting the first goal Baglan showed signs but after the first goal, they had shown no signs to strengthen the lead.
The game was well controlled by Penydarren and rarely any counter-attacks they had to deal with.
Penydarren were good value for their victory with an inspired performance from Christopher Colvin, who looked a threat throughout the game.
The Miners will take on Llandudno Albion at Newtown’s Latham Park on the 18th April.
