FAW Youth Cup: Third-tier Chirk AAA to meet New Saints in final
Chirk AAA and The New Saints will contest the FAW Youth Cup this year.
The two sides who are separated by two divisions in regards to their mens side will meet on April 26, with the venue to be announced.
To reach the final, Toby Nash scored both goals as Chirk AAA upset Cymru Premier outfit Newtown at TNS’ Park Hall.
TNS beat Barry Town United by the same scoreline with Lewis Rees and Lewis Bloor on target at Park Avenue.
The New Saints currently compete in the Cymru Premier Development North League.
Chirk AAA’s U19 team compete in the Flintshire Youth League and are third from bottom in their respective division.
For the first time in ten years, a new name will be on the trophy after Swansea City, who won the competition the last ten times, didn’t enter this season.
The New Saints reached the final last year but lost to a Swansea City side which had regular first-teamer Ben Cabango playing for them.
They’ve reached three finals, but have yet to lift the trophy.
