Welsh Cup: Airfield and Latham Park chosen as venues for semi-finals

The Airfield and Latham Park will host the JD Welsh Cup semi-finals, it has been announced.

They will take place over the first weekend of April and involve three Cymru Premier sides.

Firstly at Latham Park, Caernarfon Town and Cardiff Metropolitan, will play at Latham Park on April 4, with a kick-off of 17:15. The game will be broadcast live on S4C. 

The winner of the first tie will compete in the Welsh Cup final for the first time in their history. 

Caernarfon’s last semi-final appearance was a defeat to Bala in 2017, whilst Met played at the same ground last year and lost 3-0 to Connah’s Quay.

A day later, The New Saints will play the only non Cymru Premier side Prestatyn Town at Airbus UK’s Airfield, with a scheduled kick-off of 13:00. The game will be broadcast on Sgorio’s Facebook Live page.

The New Saints are the holders of the Cup after beating Connah’s Quay in the final last year. 

JD Welsh Cup semi-final dates

April 4 – Caernarfon Town v Cardiff Metropolitan – 17:15

April 5 – The New Saints v Prestayn Town – 13:00
