Prestatyn Town appeal Tier One licencing decision after being rejected prospective promotion

Prestatyn Town have appealed the FAW’s decision to reject their Tier One Licence application. 

The Seasiders lead the Cymru North by 14 points with six games remaining but have been denied a place in place in next seasons Welsh top flight.

Prestatyn say they failed the licence after failing to obtain planning permission for a new TV gantry by last month’s deadline. 

A statement from the Seasiders read: “The Club are very disappointed to receive the news that, because we do not have the necessary planning permission in place for our new TV Gantry, we have been unsuccessful in our application for the FAW Tier One Licence.

Flint and Prestatyn were two of seven clubs rejected for the Tier One licence, a requirement to compete in the Cymru Premier. 

“All other criteria were met as per FAW requirement, we are able to appeal the decision and will do so immediately.

“We have been made fully aware of the steps required for us to be successful in our appeal and will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to fulfil our obligations in order to gain the Tier One Licence, which would enable us, should we be promoted, take our place in the JD Cymru Premier League next season.

“The Club would like to thank all who helped in the preparation and submission of the licence application and also Mr Steven Jones of the FAW for his invaluable support.”

Each club has 10 days to appeal the decision and Prestatyn have taken the decision to appeal it.
