Decision day for Cymru Leagues clubs
Six clubs will come before the FAW today to learn of their Licensing Appeals.
Airbus UK, Cefn Druids, Flint Town United, Newtown, Prestatyn Town and Swansea University will all hear their cases discussed by the FAW Independent Appeals Body today.
The Cefn Druids and Airbus UK must pass their appeal today if they are to remain in the Cymru Premier.
Failure to obtain the licence would see the Wingmakers and the Cefn Druids demoted to the Cymru North.
In terms of prospective Cymru Premier sides, North leaders Prestatyn Town who have an unassailable lead at the top were denied the licence in their first instance appeal.
Second-placed Flint Town United have also applied for the licence as they await any decision on Prestayn Town.
Swansea University who hold a slender lead of a point at the top of the Cymru South were also denied whilst title rivals Haverfordwest County were granted one.
Newtown also have an appeal which would allow them to compete in the Europa League play-offs, should the Cymru Premier resume.
“The Club Licensing system aims to assist the continual improvement and development of football clubs at the top level within Wales,” said a small statement from the FAW.
“Licensing is a transparent process that enables clubs to demonstrate to their stakeholders that they meet quality standards.”
