Cwmbran Town: Crows seeking successor to Nicky Church

Cwmbran Town are on the search first-team manager after the stepping down of Della Cheedy and Nicky Church.

A former player during their time in the Cymru Premier, Church had been manager of the Crows since April 2018 and led them to a fourth-place finish last season, as well as success in the Gwent Cups.

The Gwent club were 11th in the Premier Division before COVID-19 brought a halt to the domestic season.

Despite football being paused in Wales due to the Coronavirus, the club are eager to appoint a successor quickly as they prepare for the 2020/21 season.

“There is obviously uncertainty regarding football currently because of the COVID-19 virus but the club feels waiting could jeopardise getting the right candidate(s) for the job,” said a statement on the clubs official website.

The statement further added its thanks to its departing staff:“Everyone here at Cwmbrân Town would like to thank the current management team of Nicky Church and Della Cheedy, including assistants Craig Bourne and Miles Griffin for the work they have done at Cwmbrân Town.

“The amazing Senior Cup win last season and the commitment week in week out has been second to none.”
