A representative from the Welsh Government says talks are ongoing regarding the resumption of sport in Wales.

Earlier this week, Conservative MS, Andrew RT Davies MS asked a question to the Welsh Government about the resumption of Welsh football.

He drew a response from the Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Dafydd Elis-Thomas MS, whose response was: “Discussions are taking place within Sport Wales and the Welsh Sports Association to explore how all sports can resume safely for participants and spectators.

“The Welsh Government has not yet had discussions with the FAW in this context and with regards to this specific competition.

“When the conditions are right, and when it is safe for players and spectators, it will be for the FAW to decide how the Cymru Premier season continues, within the context of the current coronavirus regulations.”

In France and Holland, both governments put a ban on large sporting events until September.

The FFA opted to crown Paris Saint-Germain as champions of Ligue One as the two top tiers were decided from the date of suspension of football.

In Holland, however, the Dutch FA opted to null and void the season with no teams gaining promotion or being relegated.

A plan on how elite and grassroots football could resume in Wales may be published on Friday according to BBC Wales Sport
