Airbus UK: Crowther joins from Cofi as Owens departs

Airbus UK Broughton have announced the signing of Jamie Crowther from Caernarfon Town.

The midfielder is returning to Airbus after two full seasons with the Canaries, joining as a player-coach. He leaves The Oval with 45 JD Cymru appearances to his name.

Crowther, A UEFA A Licence coach, has been coaching at Airbus for eight years, working as their Head of Youth and a Head Coach of their U16s side.

“I’m really happy to be re-joining Airbus as a player-coach,” said Crowther to Wingmakers Chat.

“It was a very difficult decision to decide to leave Caernarfon after two-and-a-half great years but I have always been open about where I want to go in my coaching career and this is the first step towards that.

“People know how much Airbus means to me as I have coached in the academy for over 10 years and now look forward to helping the first team in whatever league that might be.”

As Crowther arrives at the Airfield, one player departed the club.

Forward Andy Owens announced his departure on social media after a season with Airbus, where he scored eight goals in 23 games.

“I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at Airbus UK for the last season,” tweeted Owens.

“I’ve decided to move on to a new challenge a bit closer to home but I’ll depart with some great memories and friends.”

Airbus are still awaiting a decision on whether they will retain their JD Cymru Premier status following the curtailment of the season.

The Wingmakers finished bottom on a points-per-game basis.
