As the 2019-2020 season has come to a close, it has come to the time of the year that the league’s stand-out players are awarded.
Since 2008, the Cymru Premier have recognised exciting prospects in the league with the ‘Young Player of the Year’ award.
Wales’ top flight boasts a wealth of talented players in the early stages of their careers.
Wales manager, Ryan Giggs, told us in February that he believes playing in the Cymru Premier provides invaluable playing time.
“Young players are going out and playing men’s football as quickly as possible.”
“Exposing them to that physicality I think will happen more often. In the Welsh League, at Barry, they’ve had players from Cardiff playing men’s football, playing regular, I think it can only help them.”
“The message it sends out is that you can go to Welsh League clubs and still get to the top as well.”
With exciting prospects in the Cymru Premier in mind, how many ‘Young Player of the Season’ winners can you remember?
