The Football Association of Wales have implemented promotion and relegation into the 2019/20 season.

The JD Cymru Premier will remain at 12 teams with Airbus UK Broughton and Carmarthen Town relegated.

In their place will be Flint Town United and Haverfordwest County, who have both spent time away from the league.

Flint’s promotion ends a 22-year absence from the league, having last competed in Wales’ top flight in 1998.

In an immediate reaction to their relegation, Airbus UK’s General Manager, Jonathan Williams said: “We are all very shocked and disappointed with the decision of the FAW.

“We will take our time to reflect on this surprising decision following what appeared to be a consensus from member clubs to increase the number of teams to 14 in the Cymru Premier.”
