Cymru North: Llanidloes, Holywell and Holyhead promoted, Corwen, Llanfair and Porthmadog relegated
Airbus UK, Llanidloes, Holywell Town and Holyhead Hotspur will take their place in the Cymru North nex season.
All three teams won their respective divisions after the 2019/20 season was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic, whilst Airbus suffered the agony of demotion.
However a decision had to be made on whether promotion and relegation would be used.
Meeting remotely, FAW National Leagues Board opted to implement it to help it fall in line with pyramid regulations based on final standings in the league and club licensing.
The decision sees the four clubs take their place in the 2020/21 Cymru North.
Airbus UK Broughton were relegated from the JD Cymru Premier after finishing bottom on a points-per-game basis.
All three promoted sides will be competing in the Cymru North for the first time in their history.
Holyhead Hotspur and Holywell Town bounce back from their relegation from the then Cymru Alliance in 2018.
With three clubs up, three clubs have also been relegated. Corwen, Llanfair United and Porthmadog have all been relegated from the second tier.
Porthmadog’s relegation will see them at their lowest level of football since 1992, having been founding members of the Welsh Alliance – the third tier of Welsh football.
Craig Papirnyk’s side along with Corwen and Llanfair, who are relegated from the Cymru North after just one season, will compete in the new Tier Three regional league.
