Taffs Well have signed Jordan Knott following his departure from Carmarthen Town.

Left-back Knott departed Richmond Park earlier this week after six years of service to the Old Gold.

The 26-year-old made 125 appearances in the Welsh top flight for the Carmarthenshire side after joining from Goytre in January 2015.

He moves to Taffs Well where his father had previously managed.

“It’s something I think will be quite exciting,” said Knott after making the move to the Wellmen.

“I know the offer as we’re from the same town and I’m looking forward to it.

“I’ve known Kends for quite a long time now and had a good chat with him. I’ve also spoken to some of the new signings and it sounds like an exciting project.”

He was the first player to leave the club since the news was announced that Carmarthen Town would be relegated from the JD Cymru Premier

Before departing Carmarthen, Knott penned an emotional message to the supporters.

“After six rollercoaster seasons and some amazing memories created, I’ve decided to leave the club,” announced Knott on Twitter.

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those people at the club who trusted and believed in me all those years as a kid and gave me the opportunity to become a Cymru Premier player.

“I’ve had some amazing teammates over hose years and some have become extremely close friends to this day and I will miss you all.

As the Old Gold regroup for the 2020/21 season, their departing Knott added words of encouragement for next season’s squad: “I really hope that it’s a quick turn around with your return to the top flight, which is where you deserve to be and it’s unfortunate I cannot be a part of it.

“Good luck to all involved next season and take care.”
