Goytre United have made a quartet of signings ahead of the new season.

Calum Bateman, Liam Hutchinson, Jamal Roberts and Kai Steadman have all put pen to paper ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

In a short statement by the club, they said: “Welcome to Goytre United for the 2020/21 season to Calum Bateman, Jamal Roberts, Kai Steadman and Liam Hutchinson.

“Four excellent signings for a very difficult JD Cymru South next season.”

Liam Hutchinson joins from Cymru South outfit Taffs Well where he made a handful of appearances.

Predominantly a midfielder but also someone who can play in defence, Hutchinson has experience of Cymru Premier football with Carmarthen Town and Haverfordwest County.

He also played for Bermerton Heath Harlequins in England.

Forward Calum Bateman makes the move to Glenhafod Park after leaving STM Sports following three campaigns at the Cardiff club.

The 24-year-old scored 12 league goals for the Mellons last season and was on target twice in their Nathaniel MG Cup run.

A familiar face to the Goytre United faithful is the versatile Jamal Roberts.

Roberts returns to Goytre United after playing spells with Caerau Ely and Goytre last season.

Finishing off the signings for Goytre is Maesteg Park’s Kai Steadman, who will spend pre-season on trial with the club.

Steadman joins Goytre United from the South Wales Alliance League outfit after years of success with the Llynfi Valley club.

He is a former youth player of Port Talbot Town.
