Former Risca boss appointed manager of Yate Town
Former Risca United boss Paul Michael has been appointed manager of Yate Town.
During his time with Risca, he led them to two consecutive promotions, taking over the club as a 25-year-old.
He also had playing experience in the Cymru Premier with Haverfordwest County.
Michael leaves Cinderford Town, four years after moving on from the Cuckoos.
The former Bluebirds defender succeeds Paul Britton, who spent four years with the Southern League side.
Commenting on his new job, Michael said: “I thought it was a really good opportunity.
“I have managed against Yate on a couple of occasions and the pitch is first class, I like my team’s to pass the ball and attack, and with the club being a level up it was a no brainer to apply.
“The club’s main priority next season is cementing our place in Southern League Premier, and then building from there.”
Assistant manager Andrew Smith also follows Michael to the South Gloucestershire side.
Smith was previously the manager of Monmouth Town but left to join Cinderford in November 2016.
