Aberystwyth Town sign striker George Harry from Newtown

Aberystwyth Town have announced the signing of striker George Harry following his departure from Newtown.

Harry, 21, spent a season with the Robins, having joined the club last summer from Llandudno.

The Seasiders’ new-signing also has experience with Bangor City and Wrexham.

The striker made 18 appearances for Chris Hughes’ side, scoring twice, including a last-minute winner in a 2-1 victory over his new club Aberystwyth Town.

Upon the announcement, Harry told Aberystwyth Town’s club website, “I was really impressed with everything the Manager has planned and the way he wants to play this season.”

“He’s put together a very technical, young squad who can hopefully go and compete with the best teams in this league.

This is a massive club in the Cymru Premier with great fans who need something to cheer about this season, and hopefully, myself and the lads can do that for them.”

“I’ve missed the football massively and can’t wait to get going and get back out there,” he added.

Harry becomes Aberystwyth Town’s ninth signing of the window, following the arrivals of Owain Jones and Jamie Veale from Merthyr Town, along with the signings of Sam Barnes, Harri Rowe, Jack Rimmer, Rhys Davies, Steff Davies and Jonathan Evans.

Newly-appointed manager Gavin Allen’s new signings join Marc Williams and Lee Jenkins in the Seasiders’ squad ahead of the new season, as the duo have committed their future to the club.
