2019/20 Nathaniel MG Cup finalists STM Sports are to fold, it has been announced.
The Cardiff based club who were demoted to the third tier after failing to secure the Tier Two Certificate are to exist no more.
Their withdrawal sees a gap left in the 2020/21 Tier Three South West League.
During their 14-year existence, the club achieved numerous promotions and finished fourth in the inaugural Cymru South.
Confirmed in a club statement, the club said: “It is with deep regret that we inform our friends, supporters and the wider community that we have no option but to withdraw from the new tier Three and close the club with immediate effect.
“Over our short but successful existence we have always fought with our hearts both on and off the field but unfortunately this last fight was one we could not win.
“There are a number of factors that have made us take this heartbreaking decision.
“It is our opinion that we will not be the last casualty as Welsh football becomes more elitist and the pressures put on clubs becomes greater both from the authorities and financially.“
Posts have surfaced on social media from coaches and players alike sharing their sadness of the news of the clubs folding.
Manager Nana Baah, who joined the management team in a shadow of gratitude to a club which has been the start for some careers.
“Today has been a very difficult day for me to get my head around,” tweeted manager Nana Baah.
“People will not understand how much hurt this club disbanding will cause the likes of Nigel who has put his heart and soul into the club.
“I truly hope lessons of what has happened to this unique and exceptional club are learnt and not repeated again.“
