Former Barry and Cardiff Met forward Sam Snaith joins Penybont

Penybont have signed Welsh forward Sam Snaith from Coastal Carolina. 

Snaith returns to South Wales after spending the 2019/20 season at American College outfit Coastal Carolina.

The 20-year-old has Cymru Premier experience with both Barry Town United and Cardiff Metropolitan

He was also previously on the books of Forest Green Rovers and had a trial spell at Newport County.

Snaith tweeted of his delight after the move to the SDM Glass Stadium was confirmed.

“I’m looking forward to the new challenge,said Snaith. I can’t wait to get started.”

He is the third forward the club has recruited this summer after the previous additions of Ben Ahmun and Ian Traylor.

The Bridgend club have also signed Cardiff Metropolitan utility man Mael Davies. 

In a combined 21 appearances, Snaith scored six goals in the Cymru Premier.

He also featured in Met’s Nathaniel MG Cup run as they lifted the trophy at Jenner Park in 2019. 

Prior to his time in the Welsh top flight, Snaith had his first experience in senior football with Llantwit Major.

As an 18-year old Snaith scored 17 goals in 23 appearances in his maiden season, helping them to the Welsh League Division Two title. 

Penybont have also announced that loanee Ashley Morris has committed to the club alongside returning defender Lewis Baldwin
