Connah’s Quay are to make their Champions League debut against Bosnian champions FK Sarajevo.

It will take place at the Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday, 19 August with a 19:00 kick-off time.

The fixture will be played behind-closed-doors as per a UEFA ruling and will be played on a one-legged basis, with extra time and penalties needed if the game finishes the level.

The winner of the tie will progress to the second qualifying round of the Champions League where they will play the victor of Dinamo Brest versus Astana.

The loser of the tie will drop into the Europa League’s Champions Path in the first qualifying round.

Commenting on the draw, Nomads manager Andy Morrison tweeted: “Very humbling to listen to the champions league music and then have our clubs name read out.

“All three seeded teams would be sat with fingers crossed praying they get Connah’s Quay.

“Bring on the Bosnians.”

Sarajevo – formerly owned by Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan – won the Bosnian Premier League for a second consecutive campaign after the season was ended abruptly.
