Wales’ midfielder Josie Green has been given the captaincy at Tottenham Hotspur.
Green, who penned a two-year contract in June, has been promoted from her role as vice-captain.
She replaces Jenna Schillaci after she opted to retire.
The 27-year-old was part of the Spurs side which won the quadruple in 2016/2017 and oversaw two promotions to the Championship and the WSL.
“It’s a huge privilege and honour for me to be named captain of this great football club and it’s a really proud moment for me and my family,” said Green.
“I take great pride in leading by example on and off the pitch. I experienced being vice-captain and leading the team out in some big games last season, and I hope to build and drive the team forward this season.”
The Hemel Hempstead-born midfielder has been with Spurs since 2016 after moving from Watford, where she spent six years.
Green has 11 caps for Wales, since her first cap in 2010.
