Merthyr Town have signed defender Dion Molyneux from Cwmbrân Celtic.

Right-back Molyneux moves on from Celtic Park after one season with the Cymru South club.

He had been training with Merthyr over the course of pre-season and has now agreed a deal.

“I’m delighted to welcome Dion to the club,” said Martyrs boss Dean Clarke.

“He is a strong and athletic player who will be another great addition ahead to the 2020/21 season.

“I’m looking forward to working with him for the remainder of the season and seeing what he can add to the squad.”

He becomes the third signing to come directly from the Welsh system.

Goalkeeper Kelland Absalom joined from Haverfordwest County whilst Eli Phipps made the move from Barry Town United.
