UEFA Europa League: The three B36 Torshavn danger men to look out for

The New Saints will be looking to progress to the third qualifying round of the Uefa Europa League when they take on Faroe Islands outfit B36 Torshavn, but what three players must they keep a close eye on?

B36 Torshavn, who are nicknamed the White Tigers, defeated Estonian outfit Levadia in the first qualifying round of the competition in a 4-3 thriller after extra time and will now take on Scott Ruscoe’s side at the Torsvollur Stadium.

The Oswestry-based outfit previously defeated B36 in 2015, 6-2 on aggregate in the Champions League first qualifying round.

As TNS look to replicate that result when they visit the Faroe Islands on Wednesday, we take a closer look at some of their key players below…

Michal Przybylski

The 22 year-old Polish attacking midfielder has been in superb form in the Faroe Islands top-flight this season and is arguably their biggest threat going forward.

Since joining from Widzew Lodz in 2019 on a free transfer, Przybylski has been influential, especially this season, scoring nine times and chipping in with three assists in 14 appearances for B36 Torshavn in the Betri-Deildin.

His creative spark and deadly instincts in front of goal means he is a player who The New Saints should be wary of heading into Wednesday’s encounter.

Sebastian Pingel

Since re-joining the White Tigers earlier on this year from rivals Havnar Boltfelag, Danish striker Sebastian Pingel has been in sensational form – scoring eight times in 16 outings and setting up four goals in the process.

The 27 year-old is also versatile in the fact he can also operate on the right wing.

It is no doubt that the Dane will cause The New Saints problems and they will need to mark him as tightly as possible to avoid the forward adding to his tally of eight goals for the season.

Arni Frederiksberg

The left winger is the real source of creativity for this side. He has so far scored six goals and provided seven assists for B36 Torshavn in the Betri-deildin, in 2020.

The 28 year-old also has experience of representing the Faroe Islands on 11 occasions at international level, with his debut coming in 2015.

He joined the club in January 2019 and has showcased his eye for goal and excellent vision since making the switch from NSI Runavik, who are also based in the Faroe Islands.
