Aberystwyth Town have announced the return of goalkeeper Connor Roberts on loan until the end of January.

Roberts, 27, impressed between the sticks at Park Avenue during a loan spell with the Seasiders last season.

Gavin Allen has added to the goalkeeping options of Matthew Turner and Alex Pennock. The latter has started the opening Cymru Premier fixtures against Cardiff Metropolitan University and Penybont.

As well as spells with Everton, Cheltenham Town and Chester, Roberts also has experience of the Cymru Premier with Bangor City and has represented Wales at U19 and U21 level.

A statement on the club website read, “Aberystwyth Town are delighted to announce the return of Connor Roberts on loan from The New Saints until the end of January. The 27-year-old ex-Bangor City shot-stopper re-joins the Black and Greens for a second loan spell, having massively impressed last season before curtailment.”

Roberts is eligible for selection ahead of Aberystwyth Town’s next Cymru Premier fixture against Niall McGuinness’ Flint Town United.
