Penybont 0-4 The New Saints : Ruscoe’s men ship four past Bont

The New Saints keep their 100 per cent record as a brace each from Louis Robles and Greg Draper gave them all three points in Bridgend.

Penybont’s three-game streak came to an end as they were brought down to earn by a rampant New Saints side.

Both Kostya Georgievksy and Nathan Wood were shown second yellows as they were sent off. 

With the victory, TNS go into their title-clash with the Nomads with six straight league victories under their belt.

It only took the visitors three minutes to take the lead as Robles chipped Ashley Morris after Adrian Cieslewicz played the attacker through on goal.

Draper came close to extending the lead for The New Saints as he had a shot go narrowly wide of the post in the 12th minute.

The next chance of the game fell to Kostya Georgievsky as his headed attempt was saved by Paul Harrison.

Robles doubled his tally in the 18th minute when he was played in by Draper. He converted into an empty net.

The Saints had two chances to extend their lead again just three minutes later as Morris saved a shot from Draper and another from Robles a few seconds later.

Draper was unlucky not to score in the 24th minute as he had an attempt cleared off the line by Oliver Dalton after he rounded the goalkeeper.

The next chance fell for the hosts as Nathan Wood had a shot go narrowly wide of the post in the 30th minute.

Robles almost got his third just before half-time as he had a shot fire over the bar from inside the box.

Penybont began playing better towards the end of the first half as they were successful in holding the ball for lengthier spells.

TNS extended their lead just one minute into the second half as Draper’s penalty kick hit the underside of the crossbar before going in.

Draper doubled his tally just eight minutes later when he converted after being played through by Adrian Cieslewicz.

A pushing-affair between the two sides in the 55th minute meant the referee booked two players from both teams.

Penybont had a few half chances around the hour mark but were unlucky in the final-third.

Bont talisman Nathan Wood was sent off for a second yellow as he brought down Lewis Rees on the counter-attack in the 75th minute.

Just five minutes later, the hosts were reduced to nine men when Kostya Georgievsky was booked for the second time.

The visitors held on to the ball well in the dying moments as they saw the game out with a 4-0 victory away from home.
