Isaac Berry appointed as first-team manager of Briton Ferry Llansawel

Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies have appointed Isaac Berry as their new first-team manager.

Berry, who has worked as a coach at Caerau Ely, Pontypridd Town and Taffs Well, will now take the managerial reigns of the Welsh Premier Women’s League outfit.

In terms of experience in the women’s football, Berry was the driving force in establishing a women’s side for Merthyr Town, who currently play in the Welsh Women’s League.

He replaces Andy Jones, who mutually agreed to a departure from the Neath Port Talbot club.

The Wellmen coach will be assisted by Rhys James, who was previously the assistant to Fern Burrage at Cyncoed Ladies.

“I made the decision, I spoke to Ross and the guys, I wanted to come back into the women’s side of the game,” revealed Berry.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to go out on my own and become a manager.

“It’s something I’m really looking forward to doing and something I wanted to do.”

Commenting on his appointment, general manager Ross Norgove said: “I’m delighted that Isaac is coming on board as our new manager.

“He comes with very high recommendations and has experience as an assistant manager in the Cymru South league where he has worked alongside some top managers and coaches.

“From the discussions I’ve had with Isaac, his aims and ambitions match that of the club.

“I’m sure with Rhys coming in alongside him and with the coaching staff we already have in place he’ll make a success of it.

“I’d also like to thank Taffs Well Manager Lee Kendall for all his help and support in getting this sorted.”
