Rhys Norrington-Davies becomes the SEVENTH Welsh player at Stoke City

Stoke City have signed sign Welsh left-back Rhys Norrington-Davies for the remainder of the season from Sheffield United.

The Blades, who recently extended his contract to 2014, recalled the Wales international from his loan spell at Luton Town.

It has allowed him to move to play-off chasing Stoke, who are currently eighth in the Championship standings.

“We are pleased to bring in another young player who is hungry to develop and improve,” commented Stoke City boss Michael O’Neill.

“Rhys is a player we have been aware of for some time and I’m sure he will be a key addition to our defensive resources for the remainder of the season.”

During his loan spell at Kennilworth Road, he made his senior Wales debut, after a number of impressive performances for the Hatters.

In total, he made 22 appearances during a four-month spell under Welshman Nathan Jones.

The Saudi Arabian-born defender has become the seventh Welsh player in Stoke’s first-team squad.

Earlier in the transfer window, attacker Rabbi Matondo moved from FC Schalke on loan.

He joined Adam Davies, James Chester, Joe Allen, Morgan Fox and Sam Vokes at the Staffordshire club.
