Stoke City are reportedly hoping to sign Wales international Rabbi Matondo from FC Schalke.

Matondo, has been linked by the Daily Mail with a potential loan move to the bet365 Stadium, with the clubs apparently in talks.

The 20-year-old has made just three appearances for the Bundesliga’s bottom side this season and a return to England could be in the offing.

Last season, he featured 21 times, but has since been restricted in this campaign.

Matondo, will need to feature regularly for a club side if he is to increase his opes of making Wales’ EURO 2020 squad.

A further report from Football Insider says that Stoke’s bid has been accepted, with the green light now given allowing Matondo to move.

He would become the sixth Welsh player in the Potters squad. They already have Adam Davies, James Chester, Joe Allen, Morgan Fox and Sam Vokes on their books.
