Taffs Well have announced that Lee Bridgeman is to take up the role as chairman of the club.

Bridgeman, a former manager of the Wellmen, will take over from John Newberry.

During his time as manager of the club, he led them to four Welsh Football League Cup finals, winning each one.

Adrian Needs, another former manager of the club, will work alongside Bridgeman as his Vice Chairman.

Commenting on his appointment, the four-time Welsh League Cup winner said: “I am grateful to the committee for giving me the opportunity to drive the club forward. I’m now looking to introduce some exciting plans for the future, both short and long term.

“I would like to thank John for the role he has played at the club.”

Taffs Well also provided an update on the current managerial situation, following the exit of Lee Kendall.

Kendall left Rhiw’r Ddar to join their JD Cymru South rivals Cambrian & Clydach Vale last month.

“The club will unveil a new first-team manager shortly, as well as plans to strengthen the squad for when football resumes.

“As a club we are looking to grow our role within local communities and ensure a strong viable path for young players from an early age, through the academy and  into the first team. We hope for an improved and successful 2021.”
