Connah’s Quay Nomads: Kai Calderbank-Park added to goalkeeping ranks

Connah’s Quay Nomads have announced the signing of Australian international goalkeeper Kai Calderbank-Park.

The Australian U20’s shot-stopper spent time at the academy of Premier League side Burnley, during which time he had loan spells with the likes of Curzon Ashton and Hyde United.

The Wollongong-born goalkeeper most recently had a spell with newly formed Bury AFC, signing in October having departed Burnley.

Calderbank-Park has represented Australia’s youth sides on a number of occasions, most recently featuring in two of the side’s three games in AFC U19 Championship qualification.

The goalkeeper will contest for the number one spot with Nomads ‘keeper Ollie Byrne, following Lewis Brass’ departure from the club this season.

“Kai has come in and trained and done really well,” said Nomads boss Andy Morrison.

“He’s signed with us until the summer and will challenge Ollie for the number one spot.”
