Wales centurion Loren Dykes has ended her playing days in professional football.

Dykes made her Wales debut back in August 2007 against the Netherlands and built on that to become her country’s second player to hit 100 appearances after Jess Fishlock.

Many teammates and coaches took to social media to look back on Dykes’ eventful career, which included two appearances in the FA Cup final alongside multiple appearances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Wales’ record goalscorer Helen Ward said:

Tanya Oxtoby, who was Dykes’ former boss at Bristol City said it was a pleasure to work with the defender

Bristol City, where the 33-year-old is currently coaching at, called her a ‘legend’.
