Nathan Cadette has found his next coaching venture by joining the coaching staff of Ardal Leagues outfit Goytre.

After stepping down as manager of Bridgend Street in December, Cadette was in search of a new opportunity, as he undertakes his UEFA A Licence course.

He will now link up with Goytre, working alongside first-team manager Eston Chiverton, who guided his side to a fifth-placed finish in the shortened 2019/20 season.

The 41-year-old brings a vast amount of experience to the coaching staff. In his playing career, he featured for the likes of Aberaman Athletic, Aberystwyth Town and Barry Town United, before his career was curtailed due to a knee injury.

In 2011/12, Cadette became manager of Caldicot Town. He later managed the now defunct STM Sports, guiding them into the Welsh League as manager, before returning for a second spell as first-team coach.

Commenting on his appointment, the former Cardiff City youngster said: “I am really looking forward to working with Eston and the team, there are many old friends here within both the player and management group.

“I can’t wait to get started and rise to the challenges of the new Ardal Southern League.

The former Bluebirds trainee joins a strong STM Sports contingent at Plough Road, reuniting with a number of players he had previously coached during his time at Llanrumney University Playing Fields.

Before the 2020/21 season was curtaile in February, Goytre announced the signings of Chris Hajgato, Hermon Yohannes, Joseph Evans, Lamin Conteh and Tom Burridge. Mellons founder Nigel Bircham is also part of the committee at the Gwent club.

“In a way the club is very much like STM was, a family club that appeals to the local community,” Cadette added. “Hopefully we can bring the success that the club deserves.”
