Gary Brabin appointed as New Saints’ first-ever sporting director

The Saints announced this morning that former player, Gary Brabin has become sporting at TNS.

TNS confirmed that his role will involve working closely with all the technical staff at the club including Anthony Limbrick and Chris Seargent.

The Oswestry based side revealed that the role will also include reporting to the board, monitor and evaluate the club’s football strategy with the main objective to recruit players and bringing talent to the club so it can can compete in a European competition.

Brabin was most recently assistant manager at Luton Town. He has also had managerial roles at Southport, Cambridge United and Tranmere Rovers.

The former Rovers manager will also be involved with the player development area at the club with physical performance, analysis, fitness and health being some of the areas.

On the TNS website Brabin said: “I am delighted to become the New Saints first ever Sporting Director.

“I obviously know the Club and more importantly the people who make up the Club and I am keen to play my part in bringing about greater success to the New Saints.

“This is a different role to what I have undertook previously, but it is a role which in my previous time as a Manager, I would have welcomed the support of a Sporting Director.

“I take great pride in building and strengthening everything I work upon and I will look at all times to add value to all those involved at the Club and whilst continuing to build upon the vision and great work undertaken by the owner, Mike Harris.”
