Connah’s Quay claimed their first win at Park Hall in a 4-1 victory against The New Saints to go to the top of the table and three points clear.

Michael Wilde gave Connah’s Quay the lead early on with Brobbel equalising 24 minutes in. Two more Wilde goals later on in the half and Jamie Insall scoring in the second fourty-five gave Nomads a famous victory.

It was a dream day for Andy Morrison’s team as Wilde proved the difference with a first half hat-trick and was clinical in his finishing. Nomads took their chances as TNS only managed to convert one opportunity into a goal. In the second half Nomads closed shop and bagged another one in the process to keep Limbrick’s side at bay.

The result leaves Nomads three points clear with five fixtures left for both sides in the league season, including another meeting at the Deeside Stadium between the top two in a week’s time.

In the 8th minute of the game Connah’s Quay took the lead as Declan Poole whipped a ball in from the right-hand side and Michael Wilde headed the opportunity past Paul Harrison to give Andy Morrison’s side the lead.

A minute later, Ryan Brobbel had a shot from outside the box for the Saints, but it was deflected wide.

Not long after Andy Morrison’s team crossed in a ball from a free kick with Neil Danns just heading over the crossbar of Harrison’s goal.

In the 24th minute TNS equalised as Brobbel found the bottom left corner and scored past Byrne.

Nomads were back in front five minutes later as Danny Davies headed a ball into the box and Wilde scored past Harrison for the Connah’s Quay’s forward second of the game.

Just short of the 40-minute mark, Ryan Brobbel had another opportunity in the game from outside the 18-yard area. However, Brobbel shot wide of the Byrne’s net.

On the stroke of half-time, Michael Wilde got a hat-trick as a ball got whipped in from John Disney and Wilde headed past Harrison to make it 3-1 for the away team going into the break.

The first attempt at goal in the second fourty five came from Blaine Hudson after Ben Clark got a ball into the box as Hudson connected with the TNS defender heading just wide of the goal.

Just before the hour mark, Jamie Insall scored a fourth after he collected the ball in the TNS penalty area.

In the 82nd minute Blaine Hudson went down in the box as a penalty was given. The following minute Greg Draper stepped up and Oliver Byrne guessed the right way to keep the score at 4-1.

TNS will now host 6th place Caernarfon Town on Tuesday.

Nomads travel to 3rd place Bala Town on Wednesday.
