Haverfordwest County lost their grip on seventh spot as they were held to a goalless draw by Flint Town United at the Bridge Meadow Stadium.

A drab goalless draw between Haverfordwest County and Flint Town at the Bridge Meadow would have pleased neither manager, a point apiece is probably what the two sides deserved as neither threatened to win the game with their offensive play.

The first half was less than memorable, home forward Jack Wilson, making his first start for four months after injury clipping the bar with an evasive cross on ten minutes the closest attempt on goal.

Visiting goalkeeper Jon Rushton saved well at the feet of Danny Wilson six minutes later as Williams, Wilson, and Ben Fawcett combined at times to create half openings.

Williams had an opportunity to strike at goal but crossed to Fawcett but the quality was lacking in the final ball, perhaps underling the insipid display from both sides.

There was no lack of endeavor, a midfield battle between Kieran Lewis and the visitors Alex Jones rising the shackles, with former Harrington Town duo Josh Amis and Jordan Buckley showing signs of danger.

Jordan Buckley had an early attempt cleared off the line by Dan Sommerfield and home goalkeeper Wojciech Gajda the busier of the custodians as he was called into action several times, saving well from point-blank range with fifteen minutes to play and again tipping over a goal-bound header in injury time.

Buckley had an attempted overhead kick which drifted narrowly over the bar, Bluebirds Cameron Keetch adding some guile and spark when he replaced a tiring Wilson the only bright spark for home manager Wayne Jones to reflect on.

Home skipper Sean Pemberton stood tall in his first starting appearance for a few months, brought about due to the home side shipping eleven goals in a week, the veteran relishing the dual with Amis. A growling encounter was littered with more yellow cards, including visiting manager Neil Gibson for his protestations at referee Dave Morgan than there were chances in the second half, whilst Evan Gums and Danny Williams tangle off the ball, the bluebirds striker now suspended on Tuesday evening for his involvement in the fracas.

Flint travel to in-form Newtown on Tuesday evening, the Robins leap frogging Haverfordwest into seventh place, the Bluebirds hosting Cardiff Met at the Bridge Meadow looking to avenge their 6-1 defeat just a week ago.
