Wales right-back Rhiannon Roberts has signed a new contract with Liverpool Women.
The announcement came following the completion of the of the 2020/21 FA Women’s Championship season.
The Reds were unable to immediately bounce back to the Women’s Super League following their relegation last season.
“I’m really happy to have committed my future to Liverpool Women,” Roberts told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I’m really looking forward to the future.
“We’ve built some great foundations this year and I’m ready to go for next year now.
“I’m putting all my energies into that and we’re ready to try to get ourselves back up where we belong.”
Liverpool’s interim manager Amber Whiteley has said that Roberts will remain a key member of the Reds squad moving forward.
“Razza has been an integral part of the team, particularly over the last season,” said Whiteley.
“We’re delighted she has committed her future to us.
“She’s the ultimate professional both on and off the pitch.
“Everything she does is for the greater good of the team.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Raz over these last 12 months.”
Roberts joined Liverpool in 2018 after a five year stint with Doncaster Rovers Belles.
It was during her time in Doncaster that the 30-year-old made her Wales debut.
Roberts was called up by Jayne Ludlow for Wales’ 2017 Euros qualifier against Austria.
Despite falling to a 3-0 loss in Sankt Pölten Roberts has remained an ever-present in the Cymru squad ever since.
The defender started both of Wales friendlies last month and will be a key member of Gemma Grainger‘s side as they aim to qualify for the 2023 World Cup.
Qualification for starts in September with Wales hosting Kazakhstan in the opening match.
