Cardiff Met continued their strong finish to the season by smashing the Cefn Druids 6-0 at Cyncoed Campus in the Play-Off Conference of the JD Cymru Premier.

Met talisman Eliot Evans scored a first-half brace to reach a half-century of Cymru Premier goals against their youthful side.

Ollie Hulbert, Lewis Rees, and Tom Price were also on target in the first half before Craig Davies compiled the misery with five minutes remaining in the second half.

To make matters worse, Jacob Wise was sent off in what was another torrid afternoon for the porous Ancients defence, who continue to ship goals at an alarming rate.

The Archers have been free-scoring and showed it this afternoon with Christian Edward’s side adding six more. In back-to-back to back home matches, Met have scored more than five goals.

The hosts took an early lead when Evans fired a cross into Ollie Hulbert who was there to fire home from close range to give them the lead.

Moments after the goal, Druids had two opportunities of their own which forced Will Fuller in to making a double save.

After a few corners from both sides with no real chance to trouble either team, Lewis Rees stepped up and took a shot that went to the right side of the goal past Benjamin Edwards to double the lead for the hosts.

Jacob Wise was dismissed as he handled Ollie Hulbert in from a corner and argued with the referee and got given a red for his actions.

This was a game-changer as the Cefn Druids teams were already two goals down and had to play 65 minutes of the game with ten men.

Matthew Blake delivered a cross moments later as a depleted defence gave Price space in the box as he headed home to run home their man advantage.

Met provided chances for the rest of the half with Druids finding no way to get past the Met defense.

Lewis Rees was through on goal but was taken out by Benjamin Edwards for a penalty kick. Evans stepped up and slotted the ball to the left side and had sent the keeper the opposite way to give the home side a mammoth lead.

The early stages of the second were a lot more even with rarely any attacking opportunities for both sides with offsides being flagged up.

Price had a shot deflected off the line by Williams following a loose ball. A cross on the left side was crossed in with Price there to head just over.

Charlie Corsby had a shot from distance following a short free-kick by Eliott Evans as his shot went over the bar.

Kyle Mccarthy delivered a cross into the box with Benjamin Edwards unaware it has headed towards him as he made a nervous save to prevent a sixth.

Liam Warman came off the bench and slid across a ball into the box, but no Met player was there to connect with the ball to give the hosts an increased lead.

Craig Davies was brought on and had scored late on when Liam Warman back-heeled a layoff for Davies into the bottom right corner.
