Wales to play Scotland in friendly match at Parc y Scarlets

Wales will play host to Scotland at the Parc y Scarlets in a friendly match on June 15.

Gemma Grainger’s side will face The Tartan Terriers in preparation for their 2023 World Cup qualifying campaign which will begin in September.

It will be third consecutive home fixture for Wales after playing Canada and Denmark last month.

The last meeting between the two sides was in 2017, where Scotland defeated Wales 6-5 on penalties in the Cyprus Cup.

The Scots are still without a manager after the departure of Shelley Kerr, who has joined the English FA as a technical director.

Scotland, like Wales, missed out on qualifying for the Women’s Euros which will take place next year in England.

“I’m very excited to be with the players again,” said Grainger.

“We had a great camp in April with two competitive performances. Scotland will be a great test as we look to continue the progress ahead of the World  Cup qualifiers beginning in September.”
