The Football Association of Wales today conducted the draw for the first round of qualifying in the 2021/22 FAW Women’s Cup.

The 2021-2022 season will mark the return of the competition, following the previous two tournaments being cancelled due to the pandemic.

The qualifying round will be split regionally, with 13 fixtures in the Southern Draw and eight clashes in the Northern Draw.

All matches are due to take place on Sunday, 19th September.

Previous winners Cardiff Metropolitan University, who won the 2018-2019 competition with a 2-0 victory over Abergavenny Women, along with all Tier One clubs have received a bye to Round One.

Abergavenny Women, Briton Ferry Llansawel and Cascade Ladies, who were recently demoted from the Welsh Premier Women’s League, also have a place in the next round.

Swansea University, who will play in the FAW’s new Tier Two South have been drawn away at Tonyrefail Welfare.

Merthyr Town will play away at Aberaman Park against Aberdare Town, who missed out on a place.

Caldicot Town travel to Llanyrafon Junior, meanwhile Cardiff Bluebelles host Tredegar.

In the North, there is a battle between the two new Tier Two North sides with Wrexham Women travelling to Llanfair United.

Meanwhile Airbus UK make the trip to Welshpool Town and Bethel Ladies travel over Snowdonia to face Llanberis.

2019/20 semi-finalists Connah’s Quay are away to Corwen.
