Flint Town United have signed Michael Parker from Caernarfon Town after the departure of their skipper Richie Foulkes.

Parker reunites with manager Neil Gibson after working with him at both Connah’s Quay and Prestatyn Town. In the past season, Parker had been at Caernarfon and made 16 appearances for the Europa Conference League play-off finalists.

The 33-year-old has over 200 appearances in the Cymru Premier for Prestatyn after spending over 10 years at Bastion Gardens.

During his time in North Wales, he won the Welsh Cup under Gibson, as well as featuring in the UEFA Europa League.

“He is a player who possesses a number of qualities I look for in a player and what I am hoping to bring to the group,” said manager Neil Gibson on the arrival of Parker.

“Michael has worked with me for a long time and he knows exactly the way I want to play and the demands I place on the team.

“He will help drive forward the standards both on and off the pitch that allows the football club to move forward and improve.

Meanwhile, it was also announced on social media that captain Richie Foulkes would be leaving for pastures new. He has opted to move English non-league outfit Vauxhall Motors.

The 35-year-old featured a total of 26 times for Flint in their first season back in the Welsh top-flight for over two decades, scoring four goals.

Announcing his departure, Foulkes said: “After five incredible seasons at the club I’ve made the extremely difficult decision to move on and pursue a new challenge.

“Captaining this club in the Cymru Premier was an unreal feeling and one I’m very proud of.

“Due to work and family commitments, I would be finding it difficult to commit to the gaffers plans.

“There are far too many people to thank that have helped and supported me during my time at Flint but I am truly grateful to each person. All the best for the 2021/22 season.”
