Cam Langan scored a brace as Swansea University issued the perfect response to Friday’s defeat by thrashing Afan Lido 3-0 at the Marstons Stadium.

Langan netted in the opening a few minutes before adding to Bruno Osorio’s goal after the hour mark as they ensured a comprehensive victory.

Dafydd Evans’ side were good value for their win as they delivered a good performance to erase from the minds their 3-0 defeat to Briton Ferry Llansawel.

Straight out of the changing rooms, the Students found themselves in front early on. A beautiful floating pass from the left found Langan in the six-yard box and his gliding header to the back post beat Steffan Rogers.

There was a chance then for Harry Huddart to quickly double their lead but he put over a shot from 10-yards.

Towards the end of the first-half, Lido pushed for an equaliser and should have drew level. A side splitting pass found Josh Edwards but in a one-on-one with Luke Martin, the Swans keeper came out and put him off enough as his effort was cleared off the line.

After the interval, there was a scrappy start to the second-half and the referee wasn’t afraid to show some cards. Osario and Lido’s John Hall were put into the notebook.

After going close in the first forty-five, Edwards had another chance to level and his shot at the advancing Martin forced him to parry.

There was a definite physical edge in the air with both teams playing at a higher tempo but the Swans were still controlling the match.

Recently captioned Osario was undettered by his caution as the Spaniard found the net for the first time on the Welsh shores. The ball fell kindly for the forward and from 15-yards out he fired his shot into the top right-hand corner.

Moments later, the away side all but ensured that they would leave with the win. Great midfield play resulted in Langan finding space on the right-hand side before cutting in to shoot past the goalkeeper.

The two goals proved as a real blow for Paul Evans’ side as they lost their composure from the six-minute salvo.

Lido pushed for a consolation goal but a speculative effort from distance from Conor Harris was easily held by Martin.

A goal didn’t come for the hosts and instead Swansea ran out with a comfortable scoreline. Lido now have to quickly pick themselves up for Friday’s match with Llanelli Town, meanwhile Swansea travel to Cwmbran Celtic on Saturday.
