Swansea University 2-1 Ammanford: Students snatch win as Huddart hurts Ammanford

Swansea University marked their first home game of the season at Sketty Lane with a 2-1 win over Ammanford in the Cymru South.

The deciding factor in the game come in the 87th minute, where a ball came in from Elliot Jones was headed onto the post by a flick on header by Dan Sheehan, the ball then deflected back into play where Harry Huddart flicked it back into goal, where it was saved by Craig Morris, the linesman then give the goal as it was thought the ball had crossed the line and gave the Students a controversial late goal.

On a mild evening at Sketty Lane, both sides coming into this fixture on the back on a loss during mid-week. Uni started the better side with most of the possession but Ammanford had the first proper chance of the game.

Liam Samuel causing trouble on the left, whipped a ball in but nobody was there to put the ball in the back of the net.

The Students had the first proper chance of the game a couple of minutes later, Elliot Jones delivered a good ball in, Tim Hicks got the header first and he flicked it on and came off the left-hand post, comes back into play, Adam Orme then had a perfect opportunity from four yards but a wonderful save from Craig Morris to keep the scores level.

Just before halftime, Dan Sheehan bombed on forward for Swansea University, the full-back then delivered a wonderful ball to Adam Orme where his cross was inch-perfect and a flick from Tim Hicks just passes the left hand side post and went out of play.

The opening goal just come after half time, a free kick for the Students which was just outside the box. JB Fisher stepped up and wrong footed Craig Morris and it just fooled the keeper and it give Uni a well deserved lead in this tight affair.

Just after the goal, Ammanford seemed to wanted to press the ball more and this come into affect, they won the ball in the middle of the park, the resulting tackle, got a counter attack on for the Black and White Army, the ball was quickly spread out to Tristan Jenkins, where it ran on forward, he then delivered a wonderful ball into the box, it was over hit which missed all of the players even the Uni defenders, it then come out wide to Dillon who unfortunately hit it straight at Luke Martin in the Uni net.

Just after that opportunity, Ammanford started taking control and played some lovely football, this ended up Trundle in a bit of space just outside the box and he hit a wonderful strike and drawn the game level.

The game then went end to end, with both teams going for the win. Uni get a free kick on the right hand side, Jones delivers the ball in, Sheehan gets his head to it but it bounces off the post, Huddart then gets a foot onto it and puts it back towards the goal, Morris makes a save but then the linesman decides the ball has crossed the line and gives Uni the goal.

In the resulting, goal, All the Ammanford players rushed over towards the linesman, after all this had calmed down Brett Enoch was sent off and Ammanford are down to ten men.

Just after the decision was been given, Uni settled the game down, the ball is crossed in, it falls to Cameron Langan who caught the ball perfectly but is stopped by the post.

Ammanford then got a free-kick just outside the box, a huge expectation on Lee Trundle who steps up but his shot is just hit underneath the wall and Luke Martin picked the ball up.
