Colwyn Bay put their home worries to bed after a superb win against newly promoted Llanidloes at the Four Crosses Arena.
The Seagulls bounced back from Connor Bird’s opener to go in front through Tom McCready after Robbie Parry had equalised from the spot.
Jack Higgins furthered their lead but there would be a late scare as Colwyn Bay looked to end their home hoodoo, Luke Boundford scored on his debut for the Daffs, but it didn’t prove enough for a point.
The Seagulls now move up to fifth in the Cymru North table on ten points while Llanidloes are in 10th with six points.
In the first meaningful chance of the match, Llanidloes got off to a perfect start scoring on seven minutes thanks to a tap-in from Connor Bird.
It was nearly two a few minutes later but Lance Jones missed the target from a few yards out under pressure from the defenders.
Colwyn Bay’s first chance fell to Jack Higgins, he was found from a great cross by Morgan Ashworth on the right-hand side, but Higgins was unable to direct his volley towards goal.
The chances were starting to flow for the home side as another went begging. Owain Morris’ effort was well saved by goalkeeper Luke Williams That chance was the last action for Owain Morris who suffered an injury, he was replaced by Sam Jones.
The substitute was straight into the action looking very lively. A great run by Jones saw him hauled down in the box for a Colwyn Bay penalty. The spot-kick was tucked away nicely by Parry to level the scoring.
An unwanted common theme popped up to Colwyn Bay’s displeasure. Their injury list was lengthened yet again just before halftime as Morgan Ashworth was replaced by returning Cai Owen.
Emerging quickly from the second-half, Bay were in front, great work down the right-hand side by Sam Jones saw him slide in Captain Tom Mcready who finished with great composure.
It was three for the home side just before the hour as Jack Higgins found the net from just a yard out.
Jack Higgins was involved yet again soon after, he looked to have been brought down in the area, but the referee waved away the appeals.
Evans missed a golden opportunity with 15 to play, he found himself through on goal with only the goalkeeper to beat but his toe-poke effort went wide.
There was a late scare as a defensive mistake opened the gate for a late comeback from Llanidloes. The ball was played across to Luke Boundford who blasted the ball into the top corner.
The Seagulls played out the last few minutes professionally holding possession well.
