Airbus UK have looked to the New Saints after signing both Beau Cornish and Simon Spender.

Cornish joins on loan until January, meanwhile Spender will play on a permanent basis.

After a ten-year spell at Park Hall, Spender looked to have retired but has opted to prolong his career at The Airfield.

In the decade in Owestry, he racked up over 200 appearances, winning every domestic honour possible.

Right-back Spender remains with TNS in a full-time position, working with their academy and with the Under-19s.

Cornish racked up 29 minutes in the Saints’ Europa Conference League campaign, making three bit-part appearances.

The 19-year-old has already made two appearances for Stephen O’Shaughnessy’s side, playing in their wins against Ruthin and Conwy.

The midfielder spoke to the club website after signing for the club and shared his excitement after signing for the Wingmakers: “It has been a long time coming but I am really excited to have joined Airbus on loan.

“I am looking forward to the challenge and hopefully I can help the Wingmakers get back to where they belong in the Cymru Premier.”

There has been an outgoing from Airbus however. Academy graduate Ellis Hickey has departed for Mold Alexandra.

He left the club due to ‘personal reasons and has been given his best wishes by Airbus.

Goalkeeper Luke Christie also left the club earlier this month, joining Rhostyllen.
