Carmarthen Town 3-1 Cambrian & Clydach Vale: Steele brace gives Old Gold victory

A brace from Ben Steele helped Carmarthen Town to a 3-1 victory over Cambrian & Clydach at Richmond Park.
Steele opened the scoring in the first minute before Ryan Prosser equalised for the visitors in the seventh minutes.
Tom Dyson restored The Old Gold’s advantage before Steele sealed the victory in the second half.
Both sides finished the game with ten men after Jordan Vickers and Cam Strianti saw red during the second half.
No sooner than the game had started Carmarthen took the lead through Ben Steele in the first minute.
He was rewarded for his pressing as the ball ricocheted off him and into the net Cambrian attempted to clear the ball.
Cambrian wasted no time in getting themselves back on level terms when Ryan Prosser equalised on seven minutes.
He pounced on a failed clearance by Greg Walters to volley home his seventh goal of the season.
After a rapid start, both sides settled into the game as they both enjoyed period of possession.
On 21 minutes Tom Dyson fired Carmarthen back in front when he curled in the rebound from Steele’s excellent effort.
Carmarthen would have been 3-1 up inside the first half if it wasn’t for a fine stop from Cameron Clarke.
He tipped a Jordan Vickers free kick, which looked destined for the top corner, over the crossbar.
Carmarthen went down to 10 men on 50 minutes when Jordan Vickers saw red for a tackle on Ceri Morgan.
Cambrain’s man advantage didn’t last long. Cam Strinati saw red for a late tackle right in front of the refree on 56 minutes.
The visitors dominated following the two red cards, but it was Carmarthen who got the fourth goal of the game, heavily against the run of play.
Liam Thomas broke in behind the Cam defence before putting it on a plate for Steele to tap in his second of the game.
Cambrian almost halved the deficit when captain Lee Wright struck the post moments after his side conceded the third goal.
Noah Daley tried attempted to seal the win in the final minute with a spectacular effort from the halfway line which flew narrowly wide.
