Welsh youngsters Chloe Williams and Safia Middleton-Patel have joined Blackburn Rovers from Manchester United Academy in a dual registration agreement.
Chloe Williams is a regular member of Gemma Grainger’s senior Wales squad but is yet to make her first appearance.
Williams joined Manchester United’s academy from Wolverhampton Wanderers back in 2019.
17-year-old goalkeeper Middleton-Patel was a part of Wales Under-19s squad that progressed in WU19 Euro qualification last month, not conceding a single goal.
Chloe Williams has already made her debut, coming on as a second-half substitute in Blackburn’s 3-0 loss to Bristol City in the Championship.
Wishing them well in their new venture, United’s U21 head coach Charlotte Healy said: “Delighted to see Saf and Chloe dual register with Blackburn Rovers ladies as part of their continued development to bridge the gap to senior football by gaining some FA Women’s Championship experience.
“Thank you, Blackburn, Best of luck, girls!”
