Bangor City’s turmoil continues as Citizens deducted three points
Bangor City have been deducted three points for their failure to fulfill their Cymru North fixture with Buckley Town.
The Citizens earlier this week were suspended by the Football Association of Wales for the non-payment of salaries to five claimants.
They have also be fined £1,000 with half of that suspended, however that could increase if the suspension continues into their next match.
It is a far cry of the days in which they dined at the top table of Welsh football, winning three league titles, as well as eight Welsh Cups.
As a result of their deduction, they drop down to 12th in the league table and are just a point adrift of safety with just over half the season to play.
Already this campaign they have seen a high turnover of players, as well as a change in management.
Hugo Colace was relieved of his managerial duties and replaced by former assistant manager Matt Ovambe.
The Gwynedd-based club have lost their last eight matches and haven’t won a league match since the end of August.

In a short statement to the events of the past few days, the club’s statement read: “Bangor City Football Club accepts and respects the suspension enforced by the FAW, despite the Club’s efforts to avoid this situation.
“However, the Club believes that the consequences are especially harsh, in our juniors who have nothing to do with this issue.
“Therefore we are working tirelessly to be able to resume to normal activities very shortly. Updates will follow in the coming days.”
