Five of the best players of the Ardal North West right now

The Ardal North West is one of the most competitive leagues in the Welsh pyramid.

Going into the Christmas period, the title race is wide open with six points separating Denbigh Town, Mold Alexandra, Porthmadog, Llanrwst United, and Llanuwchllyn at the top of the table.

There have been goal fests, dramatic last-minute winners, and some unexpected scorelines across the table.

We have picked five players who have made waves in the Ardal North West up to the halfway point.

Joe Williams – Llanuwchllyn

Striker Williams is having a superb season for Llanuwchllyn with nineteen goals scored in thirteen matches for the club from Penllyn. Joint top of the goalscorers table, Joe has a strong presence for a centre forward and is a proven goalscorer at this level.

He came through the Wrexham youth system as a youngster and his talent shines through in the way he carries the ball as well as his goalscoring form. He’s a valuable member of the Llan squad and his goals could be the catalyst for Llanuwchllyn to gain promotion.

Daniel Warren – Mold Alexandra

Highly rated at Mold Alexandra is their star striker Daniel Warren who has a total of 24 goals in all competitions for the Alyn Park outfit. Warren has a wealth of experience at Mold and has plenty of creative ability with some impressive finishes to date. He is a prominent member of the squad and could be the difference between Mold and their title rivals in earning them the championship.

Callum Parry – Llanrwst United

Sixteen goals in eleven league games has shot Parry up the goalscoring charts and with it, firing Llanrwst up to fifth in the league table. The 23-year-old has been netting goals for fun over recent weeks and he is very dangerous on the attack especially with teammate Sam Jones alongside him.

He has previously played for Holyhead Hotspur and Colwyn Bay in the Cymru North and has the ability to jump back up a league if the opportunity came along.

Liam Hughes of Llay Welfare

Liam Hughes – Llay Welfare

Hughes is currently the player with the most assists in the Ardal North West with a tally of 8. He might fly under the radar at Llay due to the goals of Jonathon Taylor and Thomas Wells that are scored but the midfielder is not afraid of putting in a shift and having a go at goal himself. Welfare aren’t far behind the top six in the table and if Hughes can continue to set up his goalscoring teammates, they could become a dark horse in the title race.

Matty Jones – Porthmadog

Picked up by manager Craig Papirnyk in the summer from Llanerchymedd, Jones is quickly making a name for himself in the Ardal North West. The 29 year old has 13 goals in fifteen games in all competitions at The Traeth and is becoming an important asset in the heart of midfield for Porthmadog. Jones is quick on the ball and has most definitely made the step up to level three football.
