Haverfordwest County 2-2 Penybont: Honours even at the Bridge Meadow

Haverfordwest County and Penybont both had to settle for a point as they played to a 2-2 draw at the Bridge Meadow.
Substitute Touray Sissay equalised with a well-driven right foot strike with fifteen minutes to play after Bont had led through Ben Ahmun and Kane Owen after Ricky Watts had given the Bluebirds an early lead.
Haverfordwest drew first blood in a frantic opening quarter as Watts slid in unmarked at the far post, Wilson and Williams combing down the right-hand side after six minutes put their cross be met firmly, into an empty net.
The lead lasted for just five minutes as Ahmun equalised following a scramble in the home box, goalkeeper Idzi, who had been busy in the ensuing build-up unable to keep out the effort.
Idzi was on hand again saving at the feet of the on-rushing Ahmun who made the most of a lapse pass from George, home striker Fawcett having warmed the hands of Morris four minutes earlier.
The home goalkeeper then saved a Harling header just before the half-hour and Davies had his left foot shot saved immediately at the other end by Morris.
Wilson, Fawcett, and Williams operated at a high tempo and all willing to interchange, Watts through ball just evaded the transfer-listed Fawcett.
Home skipper Rees collected a yellow card on 42 minutes for a crude challenge on Wood, Owens resultant inswinging free-kick sweep through a forest of bodies to nestle in the far corner for a 2-1 lead.
Goalkeeper Morris collected a yellow card a minute later as he rushed out of his box and made contact with Davies, Scotcher’s well-drilled free-kick tipped to safety by Morris as the sides headed off for the break.
The second half followed the footsteps of the first half, Watts and Wilson both drove hard at the Penybont defence, and as a result, changes were made with Lewis Clutton replacing Kai Whitmore for Penybont.
The midfielder made early inroads with a left dribble to the byline. Watts was the second visiting substitute for goalscorer Ahmun just before the hour and Sissay appeared for Haverfordwest replacing home goalscorer Watts.
The visitors looked a solid and compact defensive outfit following the changes as Haverfordwest played with a high front four since the arrival of Sissay.
Morris took a man and ball on the recently introduced forard amidst some shouts for a penalty.
The equaliser from Sissay came as pressure was applied to the visiting defence, Richards crossing on 79 minutes for Sissay to drove home a right-foot shot from ten yards to a tumultuous crescendo of acclaim from the home crowd.
Just prior to the five minutes of injury time the referee carded Ashley Evans and Rees for exchanging some frank views before separating them in the final finale in an absorbing advert for the Cymru Premier.
