Colwyn Bay 0-0 Llangefni Town: Seagulls held by resurgent Gefni

Colwyn Bay missed an opportunity to close the gap to the top four after playing out a goalless draw against second from bottom side, Llangefni.

The Seagulls controlled possession throughout but were unable to break down a hard-working Llangefni team.

For the first ten minutes, neither side were able to get hold of the ball and start playing with quality lacking from the off.

The brightest spark for Colwyn Bay in the early stages was the ever-lively Sam Jones who received the ball many times down the right-hand side.

The first real chance of the game fell to new man Lindfield who was found by Jones from the right-hand side, the ball landed at his feet after a miskick from a Llangefni defender, he hit a shot wide of the mark.

Half time: 0-0

The visitors first effort of the afternoon came through Josh Williams who found himself in space just outside the 18-yard box, he lined up a shot with his left foot and forced a save from Coughlin.

Sam Jones was involved again with just over ten minutes played in the second half. He looked dangerous, now from the left as he cut inside and shot with his right forcing Sinclair to save.

Sinclair was called into action yet again with 15 to play as Sam Jones was bearing down on goal, he made himself big and got something on the shot to send it for a corner.

Not long after it was Kirby’s turn to have a crack from the right as he cut inside on his left foot, hitting a low shot to the keepers left, Sinclair matching the shot yet again.

One of the best chances of the game fell right in the last seconds as a corner was swung into the far post by Evans, the ball was headed towards goal, a Bay head then flicked it goal bound and onto the bar and out of danger.

A frustrating afternoon for Colwyn Bay, but a big point for Llangefni as they look to turn their season around.
