A 94th minute winner from substitute Brady McGilloway sealed the Cymru North for Airbus, after a 1-0 victory at home to Llandudno

The Seasiders were the better team for long periods of the match, but the game changed with a red card against Gareth Evans after a bad challenge on Adam Davies. But substitute Brady McGilloway scored in the 94th minute to seal the title for Airbus.

It was a shaky start by the Wingmakers defence. 40 seconds in and Llandudno robbed the ball away from the Airbus midfield and a cross was put in by Toby Jones and it looked like a certainty that Gareth Evans would score. However, Simon Spender spotted the danger and rushed across to make a tremendous block.

The Seasiders kept the pressure on and were denied by the woodwork in the ninth minute. A corner from Toby Jones wasn’t held by Lewis Dutton and it fell to Gareth Evans, whose half volley struck the bar, before coming back out and somehow no player could convert the rebound.

The hosts came back into the game slowly and had their first chance in the 20th minute. Adam Davies cut back well on the edge of the box and his curling shot was tipped over the bar well by Shaun Pearson.

Five minutes before the half time whistle, Jamie Crowther went close with a volley, but it fizzed past the post.

The visitors had the first chance of the second half. A deep corner was hooked back into the box by Gareth Evans and it found Daniel Hughes, but he couldn’t keep his effort down.

Airbus once again worked their way back into the game and had a great opportunity to break the deadlock from a corner. Crowther rose well and his header looked destined to end up in the bottom corner, but Marc Williams got down well and chested the ball away from danger.

Fifteen minutes from time Llandudno were down to ten men. Gareth Evans mistimed a tackle on Adam Davies. Players from both sides knew instantly that Davies had suffered a serious leg injury, and urged medical teams to come onto the field quickly.

Players from both sides and Airbus manager Steve O’Shaughnessy comforted Evans on the pitch, who looked distressed and so upset about the incident, but unfortunately the referee had no other choice but to produce a red card.

With nine minutes of added time, Airbus knew they had time to find a winner, and they did just that in the fourth minute of added time. Brady McGilloway picked up the ball on the wing, before driving at the Llandudno defenders, who backed away from him, and the substitute powered his effort into the bottom corner, to clinch the title for the hosts.

Airbus will take on Gresford Athletic next, while Llandudno will also face Gresford Atheltic in their next match, which will take place on the 18th of April.
